What Colour Should You Wear Today?

A 3,000-year-old colour guide that’s far more specific than a horoscope.

Every morning, Emily stands in front of her closet in Vancouver, paralysed by choice. “I just throw on whatever,” she admits. But what if she could choose her outfit based on a 3,000-year-old system that maps which colours, directions and actions are said to favour you that day? That’s what the Chinese “Daily Luck” system does — and it’s far more practical than you think.

1. Three layers of daily luck

Heaven Luck — the cosmic weather: what’s the general energy of the day, and is it a day for action or rest, speaking up or staying quiet? Earth Luck — your environment: what colours should you wear, which direction should you face, where should you sit? Human Luck — your actions: what to do today, what to avoid, who to talk to. Together they form your action plan.

2. Daily colour luck

Red / pink for love, passion and social events — wear when you need charm. Blue / green for calm, focus and study — wear before exams or important meetings. Yellow / brown for stability, wealth and grounding — wear when you need to save money or feel secure. White / gold for clarity, precision and decisions — wear when making important choices. Black / dark blue for wisdom, protection and introspection — wear during stressful periods.

3. Auspicious times and directions

Every day has specific lucky time windows and lucky directions. Job interviews: face your lucky direction while sitting. Important calls or meetings: schedule them inside your lucky window. Signing contracts: choose an auspicious day and face the wealth direction. Travel: check the daily direction guide before setting off.

4. How it beats a horoscope

Personalisation: a horoscope groups people into twelve signs; a daily reading is matched to your own Ba Zi chart. Precision: a horoscope runs by day, week or month; this system runs to the two-hour block. Guidance: a horoscope gives vague advice, while this gives concrete dos and don’ts — what to wear, do and avoid. Directions and colours: absent from a horoscope, present here.

What Colour Should You Wear Today?
Case study

Rachel, a sales representative in Dubai, started checking her daily luck every morning before work. One Tuesday her reading said: “Wear green, face East, avoid signing contracts after 3pm.” She had a big client presentation that day — she wore a green scarf, sat facing East in the conference room, and wrapped up by 2:30pm. The client signed on the spot. “It’s not magic,” Rachel says. “It’s like having a strategy guide for life.”
